Dept/SMF of Dermatology and Venereology Faculty of Medicine Universitas Airlangga – Dr. Soetomo Hospital in cooperation with Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR), a leprosy center based in the Netherlands, will conduct a Pilot Study on screening for leprosy patients using the IDRI Test. IDRI Test which is a new screening tool to detect antibodies against M.leprae bacteria was developed by Dr.Malcolm Duthie from Seattle Infectious Disease Research Institute.
Prior to conducting the Pilot Study on March 14-16, 2017, a training session was held for screening examination using the tool at Institute of Tropical Diseases (ITD), Campus C Universitas Airlangga.
In between the pilot study and training, guests from the Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) on Friday, March 17, 2017 had the opportunity to meet the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Unair, Prof. Dr. Soetojo, dr., SP.U (K), who was accompanied by Vice Dean III Prof. Dr. Ni Made Mertaniasih, dr., MS., Sp.MK (K), and staff from the Department/SMF (Functional Medical Staff) of Dermatology and Venereology who were represented by Dr.Cita Rosita, dr., Sp.KK (K) and Linda Astari, dr., Sp.
